The Vigabatrin REMS Program is needed by the FDA to ensure informed risk-benefit decisions prior to initiating treatment, and to ensure appropriate use of vigabatrin while people are treated. It is not possible for your doctor to know when vision loss will certainly take place.

It is recommended that your doctor examination your (or your child's) vision prior to or within 4 weeks after beginning SABRIL and a minimum of every 3 months during treatment up until SABRIL is stopped. Tell your doctor if you or your youngster have any side effect that bothers you or that does not vanish.

If you are expecting or intend to obtain expectant, tell your medical care service provider. If vision testing can not be done, your doctor may continue prescribing SABRIL, but will certainly not be able to watch for any vision loss. If vision examinations are refrained from doing frequently, your healthcare provider may quit suggesting SABRIL for you (or your kid).
