Children are fascinated by watching seeds sprout. This is especially the case when seeds grow quickly. Alfalfa is one of the easiest seeds to grow and should develop within one week. Sprinkle a little amount of alfalfa seeds on some wet paper towel to observe them germinate and grow.

You'll need:
A packet of seeds from alfalfa (about 1.5g)
A small dish or saucer
Three paper towels
a spray mister or small water Jug

How to grow:
Put 3 sheets of paper towel on a dish.
Then , drain the water from the plate. The paper towel needs to be damp however the seeds must not be floating in water.
Spread the seeds evenly onto the towel.
Set it on a sunny window and water to stop the paper towel from drying out. It is possible to use a mister or spray bottle to dampen the seeds or simply add a small amount of water to the saucer by using the smallest cup or jug.
Every day, check your seeds to determine how they are developing.

Troubleshooting
Alfalfa is an easy-to cultivate seed that will begin to germinate within 2-6 days. Here are some issues to watch out for should your seeds not sprout within this time.

Too dry Seeds require water in order to grow. Alfalfa seeds absorb around their own weight in water before getting germinated, making them appear as if they've gotten bigger. If the seeds you have are dry they will not sprout. In order to ensure that your seeds do not float in the water, add some more to your plate. It is also possible to soak the seeds for a few hours; however, ensure that you drain and rinse them off with fresh water before spreading them onto the paper towel.

Too moistIf the seeds are moist, their new shoots and roots could become rotten before they've had a chance to grow. The seeds could also turn mouldy. It's OK for the paper towel to be moist, فوائد حبوب البرسيم but the seeds shouldn't be floating on water. Remove any excess water from the plate each time you mist or water your seeds.

Too cold or hot Alfalfa thrives when temperatures are between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. If you're cultivating your seeds indoors during winter, put them in a warm location. You might need to be more frequent in watering your seeds when you plant them in very hot temperatures. They'll dry faster.
