Watching seeds germinate is a great activity for kids especially when they sprout quickly. Alfalfa is one of the easiest seeds to grow and should be sprouting within a week. For a chance to observe the seeds grow you can sprinkle some alfalfa seedlings on a sheet of damp paper towel.

What you'll need:
The packet contains Alfalfa seeds (about 1.5g).
A small bowl or small plate
Three pieces of paper towel
an air mister, or a small water jug

How to grow
Get 3 pieces of paper towels, بذور برسيم then put them on top of the other on a table.
Then, drain the water out of the plate. The paper towel needs to be damp, but the seeds should not be floating in water.
Distribute the seeds evenly over the towel.
Place the dish on a window with a bright sun and add water to prevent the paper towel from drying out. Use a mister or spray bottle to soak the seeds or add a tiny amount of water to the saucer using either a small cup or jug.
Everyday, look over your seeds to determine how they are growing.

Troubleshooting
Alfalfa seeds are simple to plant and should be able to germinate in just 2-6 days. Here are some issues to look out for if your seeds don't germinate within this period.

Too dry: Seeds require water in order to develop. Seeds of alfalfa absorb approximately half their weight in water before they germinate. This makes the appearance of swollen. If your seeds are too dry, they won't germinate. To make sure the seeds do not float in the water, add more onto your plate. You could also soak your seeds overnight. But be sure to remove them from the dish and wash them thoroughly before placing them to a towel.

Too wet: Seeds that are moist could cause their roots as well as their shoots to turn brown before they develop. The seeds may also become moldy. While it's perfectly acceptable to allow the paper towel and seeds to be damp however they shouldn't be submerged in water. Every time you water or mist the seeds, you should drain the excess water.

Too hot or cold: The best temperature for alfalfa to grow is 20-25degC. If you're growing your seed indoors in winter, set them in a warm place. You may need to water your seeds more frequently should you cultivate them in extreme temperatures. They'll dry faster.
