Gyms: The Foundation of Performance

Gyms are the most critical infrastructure in MMA Tycoon. They are where your fighters develop their Fighter Skills, recover their Energy, and prepare for their next trip to the cage. Choosing the right training environment is the difference between a fighter who stalls out at the regional level and a champion who dominates the Rankings.

Training is a balance of financial investment and skill progression. As your stable grows toward the 50 Fighter Slots limit, your choice of gym will determine how effectively you can compete.

1. Cozad "Cheap" Gyms: The Beginner’s Start

Located in every city across the globe, Cozad gyms are the entry point for new managers. They are designed to provide essential training facilities at an extremely low cost.

Accessibility: Every city has a Cozad gym available to any manager. They are the ideal place to park your first few fighters while you are still learning the ropes and working with a Mentor.

Cost-Efficiency: Because the fees are minimal, Cozad gyms allow you to save your starting capital to invest in other areas, such as purchasing your first Clothing Company or saving up for VIP status. However, because they are basic, your skill gains will eventually be outpaced by fighters in professional facilities.

2. Public Gyms: The Player-Driven Market

Public gyms are player-owned Companies that offer higher-quality equipment and specialized coaching compared to Cozad.

Specialization: Many public gyms focus on specific disciplines—such as a "Muay Thai Heavy" gym or a "BJJ Technical" center. This allows you to tailor your training to fit your fighter's specific Fight Tactics.

Community Networking: Training in a public gym often puts you in contact with the owner and other managers. This is a great way to find sparring partners or get noticed by managers who run their own Alliances.

3. VIP Private Gyms: The Gold Standard

For the serious manager, owning or training in a Private Gym is the ultimate goal. Access to private gym management is a primary reason why managers purchase VIP and work hard to Earn enough funding to cover the high overhead costs.

One-on-One Sessions: The most significant advantage of a private gym is the ability to control and prioritize one-on-one coaching sessions. This provides the fastest possible stat gains in the game, allowing your fighters to reach elite levels much quicker than those in crowded public facilities.

Exclusivity and Control: Because there are fewer managers and fighters in a private gym, there is less competition for equipment and coaching time. You have total control over the training environment, ensuring your roster is always at peak performance.

4. Strategic Management and Funding

Managing a high-end gym is a massive financial undertaking. It is the "end-game" content that many managers strive for once they have established a profitable stable.

Gym Costs: Rent, equipment maintenance, and elite coaching staff are expensive. You must have a solid financial plan—typically fueled by winning purses, Sponsorships, or profits from a Nutrition Company—to keep a private gym sustainable.

The VIP Advantage: You must be a VIP member to create and manage a private gym. For many, the jump to VIP is timed specifically for when they have the funding to transition their top prospects into a private training environment.
