Watching seeds germinate is a wonderful activity for children, especially when the seeds develop quickly. Alfalfa ( Medicago indica) is a very easy to cultivate seed which should sprout in around a week. Sprinkle a tiny amount of alfalfa seeds onto a moist paper towel to watch them germinate and grow.

What you'll need
A small packet of Alfalfa seeds (about 1.5g).
A small plate or saucer
Three pieces of paper towels
A spray mister or small water container

How to Grow
Set 3 sheets of paper towel on a dish.
Then , drain the water from the plate. The paper towel needs to be damp, but the seeds should not be floating in the water.
Sprinkle the seeds in a thick layer on the towel.
Place on a sunny windowsill and إنتاج تقاوى البرسيم الحجازي add water to prevent the towel from drying. Use a mister or spray bottle to dampen the seeds or simply add a small quantity of water into the saucer by using an ice cube or a small cup.
Everyday, you should check your seeds to see if they are growing.

Troubleshooting
Alfalfa is an easy to grow seed that should begin to germinate within 2-6 days. Here are some issues to watch out for should your seeds not sprout in this time.

Too dry. Seeds require water to grow. Seeds of alfalfa absorb approximately 50% of their weight in water prior to they sprout, making the appearance of swollen. Seeds that aren't dry enough do not sprout. You can add more water to the plate to make sure that the seeds are damp but not floating in the water. You could also soak your seeds overnight. But be sure to drain them and rinse them thoroughly prior to transferring them onto a paper towel.

Too wet:If the seeds are too damp, their shoots and roots could become rotten before they've had a chance to develop. There is also a chance that mould may begin to grow around the seeds. Although it's fine for the paper towel as well as the seeds to be damp, they shouldn't be submerged in water. The excess water should be removed from the plate every time you mist or water your seeds.

Too cold or too hot Alfalfa grows best when temperatures are between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. If you're cultivating your seeds inside in winter, you should place them in a warm area. If you're cultivating your seeds in very hot temperatures, it is possible to water them more often as they will dry faster.
