Children love watching seeds germinate. This is especially true when seeds sprout quickly. Alfalfa is an easy-to-grow plant that can grow within one week. To watch the seeds germinate by sprinkling a few alfalfa seeds over a piece of paper towel that is damp.

You will require:
A small packet of Alfalfa seeds (about 1.5g).
A small or small dish, or a saucer
3 pieces of paper towel
A spray mister , or a small water container

How to grow
Put 3 sheets of paper towel on a plate.
Drain the water off the plate. The paper towel needs to be wet however the seeds must not be floating in water.
Spread the seeds out evenly on the paper towel.
Place on a sunny windowsill with water to stop the paper towel from drying out. Use a mister or spray bottle to wet the seeds, or gently add a small amount of water to the saucer using either a small cup or jug.
Everyday, look over your seeds to determine how they are growing.

Troubleshooting
Alfalfa seeds are very easy to grow and will begin to germinate in 2-6 days. If the seeds fail to germinate during this time there are a few things that might have gone wrong:

Too dry. Seeds require water to grow. Alfalfa seeds soak approximately half their weight in water prior to they germinate, which makes the appearance of swollen. Seeds that aren't dry enough are not able to sprout. Add more water to the plate until the seeds are wet but not floating in water. It is also possible to soak your seeds overnight, but make sure you drain them and بذور مصريه rinse them with clean water before spreading them on the towel.

Too wet: Seeds that are too humid may cause their roots and بذور مصريه their shoots to become rotten before they develop. Also, it is possible that mould will start to grow on the seeds. While it's perfectly acceptable to allow the paper towel and seeds to remain damp but they shouldn't submerge in water. Remove any excess water from the plate each when you water or mist the seeds.

Too hot or cold: The best temperature for alfalfa's growth is 20-25degC. If you are growing your seeds in winter, place them in a cool spot indoors. You may need to be more frequent in watering your seeds if you grow them in extremely warm temperatures. They will dry out much faster.
