After months of dancing around rules for their controversial boxing match this summer, on Monday it was announced that the bout has been officially sanctioned and will go down as a professional matchup.
github.comTyson's first nationally televised bout took place on February 16, 1986, at Houston Field House in Troy, New York, against journeyman heavyweight Jesse Ferguson, and was carried by ABC Sports. Tyson knocked down Ferguson with an uppercut in the fifth round that broke Ferguson's nose. During the sixth round, Ferguson began to hold and clinch Tyson in an apparent attempt to avoid further punishment. After admonishing Ferguson several times to obey his commands to box, the referee finally stopped the fight near the middle of the sixth round. The fight was initially ruled a win for Tyson by disqualification (DQ) of his opponent. The ruling was "adjusted" to a win by technical knockout (TKO) after Tyson's corner protested that a DQ win would end Tyson's string of knockout victories, and that a knockout would have been the inevitable result.
However, he spat verbal venom on Paul a few days later and claimed that it was Taylor who handed Jake Paul a lopsided beat down. Former Bellator prodigy Taylor will also appear on the same card and face Tyson Fury’s brother Tommy Fury. That said, if he has really overpowered Paul, then Tyron Woodley can bring a more terrific outcome on the fight night.
Tyson retired from professional boxing in 2005 due to a combination of physical decline, mental and emotional challenges, and financial troubles. After a series of losses that highlighted his decreasing ability to compete at a top level, Tyson acknowledged that he no longer had the heart to fight. His physical capabilities had diminished with age, and he struggled with motivation and focus, which were compounded by significant financial difficulties. These factors led him to conclude his boxing career after a defeat to Kevin McBride.

I see a direct link between Che's love of rugby and our love of rugby and his desire to see change and our desire to see change. Of course his crusade involved overturning corrupt government, changing society and fights to the death – ours is simply to prove we are worthy rugby players who deserve to be treated equally. He was an Argentinian rugby man through and through and we are proud to number him among our predecessors. I like to think he would enjoy the strides we have made.
Paul posted a video on his Instagram detailing his new face tattoo—the same one Tyson has (though it's unclear if Paul's tattoo is real)—before showing a man with a bite taken out of his ear. Paul then showed himself with a fake ear in his mouth.
"I just saw Jake yesterday, and he was 230 pounds," Mosley said in conversation on YouTube with Jones Jr. "He said he feels as fast as he was at 185 or 190. He’s so young … He looks comfortable in the weight."
The interview with Inked Mag also reveals Asher plays an important role in Tyson’s life. His third and current wife, Lakiha "Kiki" Spicer was given a tennis racket by Asher as a child while the duo’s daughter is an outstanding tennis player herself. "How is that possible?" Tyson says in the interview. "I have the tattoo on my arm, my wife has a racket from him, and our daughter plays tennis. It’s crazy."
"So I'm just like, F*ck it, like, why not just do it because Tyson did it? It's a story behind Tyson's face tat is, it was like Wednesday of his fight week, and he just got it, and he showed up to the presser the next day with the face tat and he didn't tell anybody. So I'm thinking about doing that in honor."
Tyson's new, mellowed state has finally allowed him to get real about his decision to get the tattoo. It boils down to caprice that reflects his drug-addled period. In an interview from 2012, posted on YouTube, Tyson states that he was intending to get "a bunch of hearts and stuff" on his face because he wanted to be known as "The Man of Hearts." Tyson's tattoo artist, Victor Perez, straight-up refused, and instead drafted some tribal patterns. "I just thought it was so hot," Tyson says. "I would be in these dens, these clubs and strip places sometimes and all the girls said 'oh you are very exotic, where are you from?'"
